The United States cannot oppose international terrorism in Afghanistan and favours it in Chechnya, U.S. President National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice stated in an exclusive interview to the Izvestia newspaper to be published Monday. According to her, the U.S. calls on Chechen leaders "to distance from the terrorists." Rice also noted that Washington "is satisfied" with Vladimir Putin's statements on the Chechen problem. "It looks like that he really wants to start talks with Chechen leaders," she said.
