Pakistani Fundamentalists And Afghani Refugees Arriving In Afghanistan

Both Pakistani fundamentalists and Afghani refugees are arriving in Afghanistan to help the Taliban. According to the Pakistani Dawn newspaper, around 300 Mujaheddins crossed Thursday the border with Afghanistan near the Chaman town (Baluchistan province). Some Pakistanis confess they are gunmen from the Lashakr-e-Tayaba paramilitary Wahhabit organization, though its leaders have been assuring that their supporters are only engaged in the operations against the Indian troops in Kashmir. Some Pakistani religious parties and groupings are enlisting volunteers to help the Taliban. This happens not only in border districts where money and jewellery are collected to support the Jihad, but also in the Pakistani capital Islamabad. Several young Pakistanis said in an interview with RIA Novosti that they had already enlisted as volunteers and are ready to go to Afghanistan. According to them, this will take place when Americans launch a land operation. "We are to participate in the holy war against the US together with our Taliban brothers," Pakistani fundamentalists say openly.
