Pakistani Special Services Chief Sacked Over Close Connections With Suicide Bomber

The head of Pakistani Inter-Service Intelligence agency, Lieutenant-General Mahmoud Ahmad has been dismissed from his post after it became clear that he had been involved in transferring $100,000 to the account of Mohammed Ati, one of the organizers of the September 11th terrorist attacks in the USA. The USA handed over the evidence against the general, after which President Pervez Musharraf sacked him on Monday. RIA Novosti has learnt from informed sources that Indian special services had played a large role in exposing the general's role in the money transfer. It was established, in particular, that the general had asked a citizen of Great Britain, London School of Economics graduate Omar Sayed Sheikh, whose criminal past is well known in India, to make the transfer.
