Mullah Omar, spiritual leader of the fundamentalists, and Osama bin Laden are alive and in good health and the Taliban army is able to defend the country despite the United States' force and air superiority. This was said to journalists on Wesdnesday by the Taliban ambassador in Islamabad, Abdul Salam Zaeef. He admitted that the Taliban air defense cannot reach high-flying American aircraft, reports the RIA Novosti correspondent. "Still, it is utterly wrong to say that our defenses have been wrecked", said the Taliban ambassador. To him, despite the four days of bombardments and firing of Afghanistan by missiles, the Northern Alliance has not gained noticeable territorial advantage because it "has not support of the 21 million-strong people of Afghanistan".
