Pakistan Strengthened Guard Of Border With Afghanistan

Pakistan has reinforced the guard of its frontiers with Afghanistan to prevent uncontrolled penetration of refugees into its territory. As the N.N.I. agency reported, the authorities of Pakistan will, as before, host only people with official documents, as well as sick and wounded people and women with children. The Afghans will be accommodated in special camps in direct proximity of the border. The tightening of the measures to control the border with Afghanistan is linked also with the fears of possible penetration of the Taliban into the Pakistani territory. The local observers also note that the government of Pervez Musharraf intends to stem the attempts of the local fundamentalists to go to help the Taliban. Quite a number of religious leaders keep calling on the citizens of Pakistan to join the "jihad against the infidels.
