Uzbekistan and Japan will promptly exchange information on the international anti-terror struggle. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Utkir Sultanov and member of parliament Muneo Suzuki, the Japanese Prime Minister's special envoy. According to the Kyodo Tsushin news agency, on the previous day the envoy of the Japanese government held a series of talks with the heads of Tajikistan. Sultanov told the Japanese guest that American planes carrying id to the population of Afghanistan had begun to arrive in Uzbekistan. The Prime Minister stressed that Tashkent supports the international community's anti-terror efforts. Utkir Sultanov noted that Uzbekistan's position with regard to rendering support to the United States remains unchanged. "We are opening our air space to US war planes, but only for bringing humanitarian and medical aid and search of missing people," he said.
