Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov has been informed about the start of the U.S. operation to destroy terrorist bases in Afghanistan, Alexei Volin, deputy head of the Russian government apparatus, told RIA Novosti. He stressed that the Cabinet of Ministers watches attentively the situation development in Afghanistan. Alexei Volin reminded that Russia has being undertaken a number of steps to smooth the aftermath of the strikes for peaceful population of Afghanistan for a week already. According to him, humanitarian cargoes - medical supplies, blankets and field hospitals - in great numbers are being delivered to the region to facilitate conditions of peaceful residents.
