Taliban Throw Extra 8,000 Fighters To Uzbek Border

The Taliban threw extra 8,000 fighters to the Afghan-Uzbek border, RIA Novosti correspondent reports. The reinforcements were thrown in connection with the reports on 1,000 U.S. task force fighters' arrival in Uzbekistan and in order to consolidate Afghanistan's defensive capacity, the Afghan Islamic Press agency said Sunday referring to some undisclosed sources in the Taliban Defence Ministry. Several thousands fundamentalist fighters were recently based in this sector of the Afghan-Uzbek border. According to the sources, the Taliban troops are based on all the important directions.
