On Thursday head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Igor Ivanov discussed matters of international terrorism with Alexander Vershbow, US Ambassador in Moscow. According to the information provided to RIA Novosti in the Department of information and press of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held on the initiative of the American Ambassador. Ivanov and Vershbow considered matters related to "formation of a wide international coalition of states against international terrorism". The Department representatives stated that in the course of the meeting the parties confirmed intentions of Russia and the USA to closely coordinate their activity in this area. In addition to that the parties also discussed certain present-day items of the Russian-American relations.
