A high-ranking representative of the anti-Taliban Northern Alliance is going to Uzbekistan to meet with US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld who will soon pay a visit to Tashkent, reported the American NBC television company with reference to the sources in the Alliance's leadership. The sources have confirmed that one of the questions which the representative of the Alliance will discuss with the head of the Pentagon will be the possibilities and the dates of the deliveries of American armaments about which the Alliance asks the United States. According to the data of the sources, the Northern Alliance is already receiving Russian arms whose deliveries in the past few days have increased by four times, and it also expects the beginning of arms deliveries from Iran. However, the question of American deliveries is still open, and it is supposed that the coming meeting in Tashkent can clarify the situation, say the sources.
