On Monday U.S. aviation delivered bomb strikes at the city of Kahdahar in the south of Afghanistan. Kandahar which is considered the unofficial capital is the residence of the spiritual leader of the Taleban movement. As the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera TV station reports, the US planes dropped three bombs on the city aerodrome and villages to the west of Kandahar. It has been reported that one of the bombs destroyed the village mosque and several dwelling houses. Casualties have not been reported yet. According to Al-Jazeera, electricity and water have not been supplied in Kandahar for several days and stock of medicines in the city's hospitals is depleting. Most of the citizens left the city. The TV station also says that Kabul was not bombed at night. Air strikes were dealt at targets to the north-west of the Afghan capital, in particular at empty warehouses and barracks. Since the morning the US planes resumed reconnaissance flights over Kabul, Al-Jazeera points out.
