Lebanon is going to propose to Russia the implementation of two major irrigation projects during the Moscow visit by prime minister Rafiq Al-Hariri. The visit begins on Wednesday. The projects are estimated at 230 million dollars. The point at issue is the building of Bisri dam on the Awali river and a dam and other hydrotechnical installations on the Orontes river. The sides will also discuss the ways of financing and implementing these projects. Experts point out that Russian hydropower builders have "great experience and high reputation in the realisation of such projects in the region." The major one is the Aswan high dam (Egypt), installations in Syria, Iraq and other Middle East countries.
