Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia Ali Ibrahim Naimi intends to visit Moscow shortly for talks on Russia's support for the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) which is going to reduce quotas for oil extraction and export deliveries of raw oil. This statement by Ali Ibrahim Naimi was circulated on Tuesday by the OPEC Secretary-General in Vienna. According to the minister of Saudi Arabia which is the major producer of raw oil in OPEC and the world, his trip to Moscow can be regarded as part of the programme of contacts among member-states of the world oil cartel and major petroleum-producing states outside OPEC. These contacts, the Saudi Minister believes, should be intensified on the threshold of special 118th Vienna conference of ministers of energy and oil of the OPEC member-states, scheduled for November 14, which may take a decision on reducing quotas for extraction and export of raw oil.
