Israeli troops have strengthened the blockade of the Palestinian town of Qalgilya, on the river Jordan's western bank. Israeli soldiers took control of all entries and exits into and out of the town. On the approaches to the town checkpoints have been set up or concrete and barbed wire barricades erected. At the same time, from new positions built around the town, Israeli troops are continuing to shoot in the direction of residential districts.
