The status of the present visit of Lebanese Premier Rafiq Hariri to Russia and the talks in Moscow are "the highest in the history of Lebanon since the proclamation of independence in 1943," the Lebanese Ad-Diyar daily reported on Wednesday. According to the newspaper, "presently, there are no unresolved political issues between Russia and Lebanon." Moscow remains the state which provides Lebanon with support in the UN and other international organizations. During the talks, the Russian side will "learn first-hand the position of Lebanon and other Arab states concerning the burning issue of combating terrorism in the light of recent international events." The economic aspect of the talks will touch upon expanding relations between business circles of the two states."
