Deputy leader of the Yedinstvo (Unity) faction in the State Duma, Vladislav Reznik, announced on Thursday that the latest events in Georgia testified to the progressive paralysis of the executive branch in the republic. According to him, if the president of Georgia is not in control of the power ministries, then his inability to deal with the terrorists on Georgian territory is beyond doubt. The deputy added that if any politician started to threaten his early retirement, then maybe it was about time he went. In any case, Reznik stressed that "Russia and the United Nations had received clear confirmation that it was still too early to withdraw Russian peacekeepers from Abkhazia."
