Opening the fifth annual Russian investment symposium in Boston, Massachusetts state, on Thursday, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation Gherman Gref called upon the western investment circles to abandon suspiciousness with regard to Russia. Gherman Gref noted that unprecedented systems reforms in the economy, the financial sector and legislation were carried out in Russia over the past year. The Boston forum drew over 400 representatives of Russian and American business elite, the international financial community, and the legislative and executive branches of power of Russia and the USA, as well as prominent political scientists and economists. Only the brief enumeration of the reforms carried out in Russia took about 40 minutes in the report of Gref who is the head of the Russian delegation. "By our estimate, we have made certain advances", Gherman Gref concluded. He also noted that what has been done will bear fruit only if the Western business circles get rid of the vestiges of mistrust in respect to Russia and the investment climate in it.
