Security Beefed Up In US Embassy In Lithuania

Security has been tightened in the US Embassy in Lithuania after anthrax agents were found in a sack with correspondence. Spokesman for the embassy Michael Boyl told reporters that the postal sacks, among which one contained anthrax bacteria, had been sent from the USA to Vilnius between October 11 and 24. Last Tuesday, they were taken to the Vilnius microbiological laboratory. The premises where letters were handled have been closed for disinfection. Some members of the embassy are taking antibiotics, said the diplomat.
