The working visit of the Georgian Defence Ministry's delegation has been postponed on the grounds of the recent resignation of the government. The new date of the visit, which had previously been planned for November 3-10, remains as yet unclear. This information was disclosed to RIA Novosti by the press centre of the Georgian Defence Ministry. Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze dismissed all members of the government on Thursday. Naturally, this decision was also applied to David Tevzadze, who had been the Georgian Defence Minister since 1998 and was to head the delegation to Turkey. In line with the Constitution and the presidential decision, ministerial duties will be performed by their first deputies until a new government is formed. The press service of the Georgian Defence Ministry also reported that the duties of the Defence Minister are currently being performed by Gela Bezhuashvili, the First Deputy Defence Minister.
