In the context of the recent developments in his country, Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze has postponed his visit to Belgium scheduled for November 5-8, Georgian State Chancellery told RIA Novosti on Friday. While in Belgium, Mr. Shevardnadze planned to meet with NATO Secretary-General George Robertson and the leadership of the European Union. He was also scheduled to speak at the expanded joint session of the European Parliament's Committees on Defence, Foreign Policy, Security, and Human Rights. The Georgian Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti that the president would visit Belgium on a later date. The date of the visit has not been finalised.
