Public Committee To Be Established In Moscow On The Day Of Berlin Wall's Fall, November 9

The Russia in Europe public committee will hold its constituent meeting in Moscow on the day of the fall of the Berlin Wall, November 9. The press service of the committee told a RIA Novosti correspondent that the re-unification of Germany both signified the restoration of a single German state and marked the end of the cold war and the beginning of rapprochement between Russia and Europe which must be logically capped with their unification. According to a press service spokesman, the aim of the meeting is to set up the Russian part of the international public committee and to adopt the basic documents - a declaration and a statute of the Committee. The Committee is being established for furthering the process of Russia's integration into the EU and other European structures. The press service officials noted that such assistance includes serious work of the Russian side to improve the laws, standards and certificates of the Russian Federation and to bring them in line with the European ones. The prime task of the Committee is to inspire public opinion to support the "European idea".
