During the summit meeting of the presidents of Russia and the United States, the sides will sign a number of documents, including documents concerning a new character of US-Russian relations. A statement to this effect was made by Russia's foreign minister Igor Ivanov upon his arrival in New York. In the Russian minister's words, these joint documents will be statements on different problems, i.e., on Afghanistan, the Middle East, and the fight against terrorism. "The discussion is going on at an expert level and will be continued until Vladimir Putin's visit and even during the visit," Igor Ivanov noted.
