Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov is to participate in the foreign ministers' meeting devoted to the Afghan problem, of the Six Plus Two Group which comprises six Afghanistan's neighbours as well as Russia and the USA. In addition, the Russian minister will participate in the multi-lateral meeting on terrorism within the framework of the UN Security Council and will hold talks with the Czech foreign minister and foreign ministers of the three states presiding in the Rio Group. Igor Ivanov and the Foreign Minister of Costa-Rica are likely to sign a programme of cultural and scientific cooperation for 2001-2003 on Monday. After that, Igor Ivanov will head for Washington where Russian President Vladimir Putin is to arrive on an official visit in the evening.
