US President George Bush is satisfied with the level of Russian-US cooperation on the Afghan problem, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports. Bush and Putin have often discussed the situation in Afghanistan over the telephone and they did it at the meeting in Shanghai, George Bush said. The Russian President has a clear view of the situation in Afghanistan, George Bush told a group of Russian journalists in the Roosevelt Hall of the White House on Monday before the start of Vladimir Putin's official visit to the USA adding that the Russian President had given him a piece of good advice in this connection. Bush and Putin also discussed the problem of Kabul and Afghanistan's future. Bush liked Putin's standpoint implying that the post-Taliban authority should represent the interests of "all sides" in order to provide "a stable future" to Afghanistan. On Tuesday Bush intends to tell Putin that the USA will proceed with destroying al-Qaeda and Afghan authorities harbouring terrorists especially after the great success in Afghanistan's north.
