Laura Bush Grateful For Russian Support After September 11 Monstrous Terrorist Attacks

At the meeting in the White House US First Lady Laura Bush expressed her gratitude to Lyudmila Putina for the Russian support of the American people after the September 11 monstrous terrorist attacks. Laura Bush reminded those present that Vladimir Putin was the first leader to call his American counterpart and to express Russia's sympathy and condolences on that tragic day. "This was common tragedy concerning people all over the world," Lyudmila Putina said adding that during their visit to New York her husband and she were to see the ruins of the World Trade Centre destroyed by terrorists. Lyudmila Putina marked a hearty welcome of the Russian presidential couple currently on the first official visit to the USA. Laura Bush gave a lunch in honour of the Russian first lady with the wife of the US Ambassador in Moscow attending. The latter said she was very affected when the Muscovites were bringing flowers to the US Embassy in September. In addition, Lyudmila Putina visited the Library of the US Congress in accordance with the agenda prepared specially for the Russian president's wife .
