Vyacheslav Igrunov, deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on CIS affairs and ties with compatriots abroad, has announced that an all-Russian congress for immigrants from Ukraine will be held in Moscow on December 8th. Having pointed out that Ukrainians represent the largest national diaspora in the Russian Federation, Igrunov expressed his confidence that the congress's recommendation would influence Russian policy in relation to Ukraine. The forum, in Igrunov's opinion, will help to create a permanent public organisation, which will work towards bringing Russia and Ukraine closer together. The deputy said that representatives of the RF presidential administration, the government, State Duma, Federation Council and the cultural world had been invited to take part in the congress.
