Chairman of the Russian Central Election Commission Alexander Veshnyakov leaves for St. Petersburg Thursday to take part in the session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, which will open November 24, the Commission press service reported. The assembly will consider draft convention On Democratic Election Standards in CIS Countries compiled with the assistance of the Russian Central Election Commission. Moreover, Veshnyakov will take part in a conference of heads of central election commissions of the Commonwealth of Independent States member-countries. Alexander Veshnyakov will also hold a number of meetings in St. Petersburg related to elections of deputies to Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad region scheduled for December 16.
