A joint information centre of the anti-terrorist coalition member-countries has opened in the building of the American Information Agency USIA in Islamabad. The centre will hold daily press conferences on the situation in Agfhanistan and the progress of the military operation there. According to the initial idea, the coalition information centre was to serve as an alternative to "the Taliban's fabrications regarding the mass murders of peaceful Afghans and the major losses of the anti-terrorist coalition in Afghanistan." Career diplomat Kenton Keith, who holds ambassadorial status, will head the information centre.
