Viktor Ozerov who is heading a Russian delegation at the session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly spoke on Friday for considerable improvement of relations with the North Atlantic Alliance. Mr Ozerov said this while opening a Moscow session of the Federal Assembly-NATO Parliamentary Assembly working group. Viktor Ozerov, in charge of the Federation Council (the upper house) committee on security and defence issues, noted that the Russian side would like to know at what extent NATO was ready to cooperate. Despite the fact that "our positions on the fight against international terrorism coincide, the Russian stance on these issues is not often taken into consideration," Ozerov said. "It would be interesting to analyse the peace-keeping operation in Yugoslavia. That was the sole case when NATO went beyond its jurisdiction. We would like to know whether NATO will act in this way in the future," Viktor Ozerov explained.
