The Commonwealth of Independent States has good potential in the field of settling internal conflicts of CIS member-countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin believes. At a new conference summing up the summit of the CIS heads of state which was held in Moscow on Friday Putin said the settlement of the Tajik internal conflict was the best example. According to the Russian president, this was a merit of all CIS heads of state as each of them made his own contribution to the settlement of the crisis. The Russian President is sure that the CIS could make its contribution to the settlement of similar conflicts in the future. He stressed that the formation of the CIS helped prevent "the Yugoslavisation" of the post-Soviet space.
