Investments to the value of about twenty billion dollars will be needed in the near decade for an economic restoration of Afghanistan. As the Japanese press reports on Thursday, this conclusion has been drawn in the preliminary report of the World Bank drafted for the coming international conference on the restoration of Afghanistan to be held in Tokyo on January 21-22. The experts of the Bank believe that in the near two and a half years, from 1.7 to 2.3 billion dollars will be needed for the first stage of the economic restoration of Afghanistan. The Tokyo conference on Afghanistan will be attended by representatives of approximately fifty countries and international organisations, including the United Nations.
