The volume of trade between Russia and France amounted to 2.6 billion dollars over January-September, 2001, a spokesman for the Russian ministry of economic development and trade told RIA Novosti in connection with today's visit by president Vladimir Putin to Paris. Russian export to France made up 1.629 billion dollars, import -- 1.31 billion dollars. Energy and chemical industry products as well as non-ferrous metals account for about 70 percent of Russian export to France. One-third of Russian import from France falls on consumer goods and approximately a fifth part -- on industrial equipment.
