Russia's General Staff: Too Premature To Talk About US Victory In Afghanistan

It is too premature to talk about US victory and the completion of the war on terror in Afghanistan, said colonel-general Yuri Baluyevski, chief delegate of the Russian defence ministry, first deputy chief of the general staff, upon his arrival in the American capital. In his words, some Taleban are currently scattered across Afghanistan and other places. The fight against terrorism, Yuri Baluyevski noted, is a time-consuming and sophisticated process. Even if bin Laden is brought to justice, this process will not stop, he stressed.
