Earthquake shocks that lasted in the Indonesian capital for 1.5 minutes this Tuesday and threw into panic above all those who inhabited multi-story buildings with their walls shifting notably, brought about no destruction and casualties, claims Jakarta police. The national geophysical agency measures the tremors at Force 5.3 according to the Richter scale. The epicentre is reported by local seismologists to be several kilometres westward from Jakarta at a depth of 20 kilometres from the surface of the ocean. Indonesia is located in the seismologically risky part of the world, experiencing tens of earthquakes a year.
