While visiting the archeological excavations in the town of Vergina, Greek President Konstandinos Stephanopoulos himself made some comment to Russian President Vladimir Putin. For 40 minutes Vladimir Putin and Konstandinos Stephanopoulos examined the excavations site in Vergina. They were shown the tomb of King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great, and the exposition of the museum which displays golden and silver decorations, in particular the golden crown of Philip II, some ancient vases, details of frescoes and marble grave stelai. According to some information, the tomb of Alexander IV, the son of Alexander the Great, is situated near the tomb of Philip II.
