First Secretary of the Afghan Embassy in Moscow Ghairat Sakhi has confirmed the information about the readiness of Commander of the troops of the United Front of the northern direction General Abdul Rashid Dustum to cooperate with the provisional government headed by Hamid Karzai. The diplomat also told a RIA Novosti correspondent that Dustum, ethnic Uzbek, sent a message to special envoy of UN Secretary General Lakhdar Brahimi. "In his message, the general officially expressed his agreement with the results of the conference on Afghanistan under the aegis of the United Nations, which ended last week in Bonn, at which the Afghan provisional government was formed, " said Ghairat Sakhi. Earlier, Dustum disapproved of the composition of the provisional Cabinet of Ministers. In particular, he was dissatisfied with the posts which were given at the Bonn conference to members of the National Islamic Movement, headed by him, which represents mainly the Uzbek population of the country.
