US President George Bush may arrive in Russia in April, 2002, though Washington has not fixed the precise date of his visit. Sergey Rogov, Director of the USA and Canada Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences, said this after his trip to the US, where he had held a number of meetings with senior officials. According to Rogov, the choice of April for visiting Russia is "quite logical, since President Bush has scheduled a trip to Europe in May to meet the EU leaders." Rogov thinks that the timeframe for Bush's visit to Moscow will depend on the development of the Russia-NATO cooperation terms. "In case of favourable discussion of this issue, he says, Bush may first visit Moscow, and then - other European capitals."
