Kabul is ready to cooperate with Islamabad, Hamid Karzai, the Head of the Afghan interim government, told Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf over the telephone on Sunday evening. Karzai also confirmed his intention to visit Islamabad as soon as possible, the Pakistani state radio said. According to Karzai, Pakistan has always been "the second Motherland" for him and for millions of Afghans. He expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for the support of the Afghan interim government and his hopes for the successful development of Afghan-Pakistani traditional close relations. Pervez Musharraf promised to entirely support Khamid Karzai's interim government in the restoration of peace and stability after 23 years of the Civil War.
