Boris Yeltsin, the Russian ex-president is on a check-up in a Berlin cardiology center, according to the Tagesspiegel paper. The newspaper's report is based on the information obtained from Prof. Roland Hetzer, director of the Berlin Rudolf Virhow Hospital and a world renowned expert in open heart operations. A Russian diplomat in Berlin confirmed that Yeltsin was there, pointing out that the ex-president was in Berlin on a private visit. The diplomat did not deny the fact that Yeltsin might consult German doctors, but refused to affirm that he "was in a Berlin hospital".
