Hamas-financed Newspapers Closed In Hebron

The Palestinian authorities have closed down several newspapers financed by the Hamas terrorist organisation, in Hebron on Friday. According to observers in the Egyptian capital, these moves once again showed Palestine's readiness to continue the fight against extremist groups. The closure came when US special Middle East envoy Anthony Zinni arrived in Israel and the Palestinian National Authority for a second time. He met Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon and foreign and defence ministers. The US representative will soon leave for Ramallah to meet Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
