Russia and Armenia have similar standpoints on combating terrorism, State Duma Speaker Gennady Seleznyov stated. Seleznyov has met a delegation of the Armenian National Assembly headed by Chairman Armen Khachatryan in the State Duma on Thursday. According to Seleznyov, the last meeting between Russian and Armenian Presidents during the CIS summit in Moscow showed the two leaders' mutual understanding in countering international terrorism. Seleznyov also pointed out not only the development of bilateral parliamentary relations between Russia and Armenia, but also the cooperation between the two countries' parliamentarians within the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly. Speaking about the oil policy, Seleznyov expressed his satisfaction with the increase of oil prices after Russia's decision to reduce oil import by 150,000 barrels. According to him, "it should not damage the Russian economy" for relevant enterprises "are not running at full 100 per cent capacity". Seleznyov is satisfied with the work of the Slav University in Yerevan. He also congratulated his Armenian counterparts with the opening of the Centre of the Armenian Language and Culture in Moscow.
