On the second say of his official visit to Greece President Vladimir Putin of Russia is to hold talks with Prime Minister Konstandinos Simitis of Greece in a narrow and then enlarged format. The talks will be capped with a lunch of behalf of the prime minister. Before the talks with Konstandinos Simitis the head of the Russian state will make a short excursion around the Athens Acropolis and lay a wreath to the Unknown Soldier's Tomb. Vladimir Putin will visit the Athens Mayor's Office where he will meet with Mayor Dimitris Avramopoulos. Presumably, Avramopoulos and mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov who is accompanying the president of Russia in the trip will sign an agreement on cooperation between Moscow and Athens. In the evening the head of the Russian state will make a speech at Athens University where a diploma of an honorary Doctor of this educational establishment will be presented to him. Two meetings of the head of the Russian state with the major Greek businessmen - the president of the Latsis Group of companies and the chairman of the Kopelouzos Group consortium - are planned. On Thursday Vladimir Putin held talks with president of Greece Konstandinos Stephanopoulos at first in a narrow and enlarged format. A number of bilateral agreements relating to practical interaction in different spheres was signed on the results of the talks. In the afternoon the head of the Russian state met with the deputies and chairman of the parliament of Greece Apostolos Kaklamanis, as well as with leader of the main opposition party New Democracy Konstandinos Karamanlis. Besides, a meeting of Vladimir Putin with Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens, Primate of Greece took place.
