Delegation Of Russian Parliamentarians To Make Official Visit To China

On Saturday a delegation of Russian parliamentarians headed by State Duma (lower house) Speaker Gennady Seleznev leaves for an official visit to China. The State Duma deputes intend to meet Chinese Chairman Jiang Zemin. Gennady Seleznev will deliver Russian President Vladimir Putin's message to the Chinese leader. It is envisaged that the Russian parliamentarians will meet the Premier of the State Council of the Chinese Republic, Zhu Rongji, and the Chairman of the All-Chinese National People's Congress, Li Peng. The programme of the official visit by the Russian delegation also includes a trip to the Chinese city of Harbin where the State Duma deputies will meet the leadership of the National People's Congress. Gennady Seleznev will deliver a speech to the students and lecturers of Heilongjiang University. The State Duma Speaker will also visit the Beijing zone of economic development.
