Russian diplomats will continue working in Baghdad and their evacuation is not planned, a diplomatic source in Moscow disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent.
According to the source, 15 Russian diplomats along with the Ambassador work in the Embassy. The Russian diplomatic representation has the necessary stock of food and water in order to work in an autonomous mode.
As it was disclosed on Thursday morning to a RIA Novosti correspondent over the phone from the Russian Embassy in Baghdad, none of those who stayed in Baghdad was hurt as a result of the US military operation. According to the source, "all of them are alive and feel fine." As it was disclosed earlier by Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, "variants of emergency evacuation were worked out for the Russian diplomats if the need should arise." One of the evacuation routes lies via the territory of Iran.
