Russian-Iranian Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation Meets in Teheran

The fourth session of the Russian-Iranian commission for trade and economic co-operation started its work on Monday in Teheran.

In the centre of its attention is the expansion of contacts in such spheres as prospecting, extraction and transportation of energy sources, civil aviation and aircraft building, banking and insurance.

As Russian State Property Minister Farid Gazizulin, who is also the Russian co-chairman of the commission, said in a RIA Novosti interview, "during our negotiations we plan to sum up the results, to co-ordinate new projects and to consider and approve a long-term programme for trade and economic co-operation in the next decade." According to Farid Gazizulin, who arrived in Teheran last Sunday as the head of the representative Russian delegation, "in the past few years our relations have been developing successfully and progressively." At the session to last till March 19, the Russian side is represented by deputy ministers and deputy heads of government departments in the sphere of economy and representatives of major industrial companies.
