President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and EURASEC Secretary General Grigory Rapota discussed in Astana arrangements for the session of the Eurasian Economic Community's Inter-State Council (EURASEC includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) at the level of heads of state, scheduled for April 27-28 in Dushanbe.
Rapota believes the forthcoming summit is a very important event. According to him, "some problems facing the Community should be solved only at the presidential level." The presidents often "reach understanding on most complex issues which move integration ahead." Rapota reported that the presidents of the EURASEC member countries would discuss co-operation in power engineering, transport, agro-industrial sector, collaboration in the sphere of anti-dumping procedures in mutual trade, and co-ordination of stands when joining the WTO.
EURASEC priority development trends for the coming period will also be on the agenda.
