Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said in his interview with RIA Novosti on the threshold of his visit to Russia that "it is the first time when Russia and Japan having the same prospects cooperate for the future not in words but in deeds." Answers by the Japanese Prime Minister stress the importance of the joint Russian-Japanese "Plan of Actions" that is to be signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi on January 10 in Moscow. The Japanese Prime Minister points out that the document "will become a good guide for further Russian-Japanese relations." According to Mr. Koizumi, "there is much space for cooperation between Russia that possesses ample resources and Japan that has modern technologies." The Japanese Prime Minister stated his intentions "to develop cooperation between Japan and Russia in many fields on the basis of the 'Plan of Actions'".
