A ten-month-old tigress, Alisa, kept staff of the Minsk Zoo much on tenterhooks when they discovered in the morning that the cage of the young animal was empty.
Members of law enforcement and emergency ministries were called up to the site. After a brief search they discovered animal tracks on the snow leading to a brook on the Zoo's territory and the trouble-maker herself.
Alisa had to be put to sleep by firing a special ampoule with a soporific. Then the beast was safely moved to its enclosure.
According to Zoo staff, the young tigress is already recovered and feels satisfactory. According to the staff's story, the escapee took to the open finding the door of her pen ajar after yesterday's feeding.
