A representative delegation of Russian politicians arrived in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, early this Friday.
Members of the Federation Council and State Duma (upper and lower houses of the Russian parliament), the Union State Standing Committee and the Russia-Belarus Union Parliamentary Assembly have been invited to the parliamentary hearings. The hearings will be held Friday in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus and dedicated to the state and prospects of Russia-Belarus economic cooperation.
The leader of Russian Communists, Gennady Zyuganov, has been also invited. He is expected to be received by President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus.
First Secretary of the Communist Party of Belarus Valery Zakharchenko told RIA Novosti that he also planned to meet with his Russian counterpart. "We need to discuss new plans and set new programmes for next year," the leader of one of the two communist parties of Belarus explained.
