President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov said at the session of the republican parliament, which opened on Thursday, that "the level of relations between Uzbekistan and Russia is appraised as positive." According to President Karimov, the two countries are facing no insoluble problems in bilateral trade, economic and political relations, no problems they would perceive from different points of view.
While talking about cooperation between Uzbeksitan and Russia in 2003, Islam Karimov stressed that the two countries had clear and bright cooperation prospects, and they would strive to carry them through.
In the opinion of the President, the fact that the absolute majority of the population of Uzbekistan speaks Russian matters a lot.
The Uzbek President stated that every honest person clearly understood the important role Russia was playing in the region.
